Population Genetics

The genomic information of each natural subpopulation of a species is obtained by using the whole genome resequencing or dd-RAD sequencing. A large amount of variation information is obtained by comparing with the reference genome or cluster analysis. Based on the SNP information, the biological questions such as the genetic structure of the population, the situation of gene exchange, the mechanism of species formation and the dynamics of population evolution are discussed.

The study of population evolution can obtain the variation information of species, and then obtain the genetic characteristics of biological population. It provides theoretical basis for animal and plant breeding researches and endangered animal and plant protection, as well as biological evidence for the study of geological, ecological, climatic, and historical changes in human activities.
